Away from a jungle of rain-washed pines and junipers spearing the hot blueness of your Florida sky, ran a little, tawny-haired boy. His bare ft, extending from his overalled legs, crackled in opposition to the fallen palmettos. He leaped into the air, flinging his arms toward a flock of white doves circling higher than him.
12 400 Warfield Blvd CtSte AClarksville, TN 37043 (931) 645-4111 The boarding staff was so nice to my little Leo. They treated him well and constantly sent me pictures to ease my worries. I got texts every day describing how he's doing. And he absolutely loved themI will definitely be back! My review for St. Bethlehem is based on my experience with their "low cost" spay and neuter program. Our family learned that a neighbor of ours had 7 litters of kittens born to her non spayed cats.
We took 2 females to our Farm to care for as barn cats. Wanting to be responsible cat owners and not add to the enormous cat population, we decided to get them spayed before putting them in their barn home because we have many cats that wander through our property from time to time. I heard about St. Bethlehem through an internet search and called to get an estimate on the cost for the spay surgery.
I was told the surgery would be $50 for each kitten plus $18 for each one to receive a rabies shot and license. So about $140 for both kittens. This sounded much more reasonable than the other vets (much closer to home) had quoted me. After considering this as well as the reviews, I scheduled the appointment. They were able to get us in right away; it seemed like there were many openings. I had been treating the kittens for fleas for 2 1/2 weeks by this point.
They were getting combed constantly, having Dawn detergent baths (this is so effective!) twice a week, getting dusted with diatomaceous earth daily and taking brewers yeast with garlic. At the peak of their flea infestation I pulled more than 60 fleas off of just one kitten's head! By the time I took them in for the surgery the were finally flea-free. They had one finally Dawn bath the night before the surgery and a new dusting of diatomaceous earth, just to be extra sure.
I combed them and they came up clean. The morning of the surgery (drop off is between 7 and 9 a.m.) I arrived, filled out the paperwork and met with the staff. One woman examined the kittens and entered information into a computer and seemed to maybe be training another lady who filled out a form for the quote. Its just a quote because if they should require any additional medical care they will administer it and charge you afterwards.
They seemed very rushed and business like, not particularly friendly or caring. I felt a little bit of anxiety trusting them with our kittens but thought maybe I was overreacting. They said that when the kittens woke up sufficiently they would give me a call and we could come pick them up. I spent the day with my children in Clarksville not wanting to drive the hour home just to have to turn around and come pick them up again.
Finally, very late in the afternoon, we went back to see if they were ready. They were. Why didn't they call? I don't know. When it came time to pay, my bill was well over $200! They claimed that the cats had ear mites and required treatment and also that they had to be treated for fleas. I paid, took he cats home, and gave them a clean, quiet place in our home to recover. The next day, I noticed that they had quite a few fleas on them.
Not long after, we had another full blown flea infestation. I couldn't believe it! I spent 2 1/2 week cleaning them up and ridding them of fleas, just to take them to the vet to get reinfested! I really wish I had given more credence to the other negative reviews. Everyone is on here bashing this place. I couldn't have had a better visit here. I took my 13 week old puppy here yesterday 3/14. I was a little worried because all the bad reviews on here but they are they only place I could find within 100 miles to do his ears.
So I took him and I couldn't be happier. They did a awesome job and took very good care of him. I will refer everyone I know there. I will also take all my dogs there for now on. Thank you guys for the great job and care of my Cane Corso I am extremely happy with this clinic. I have a 2 Great Danes. One of them is very skidding and will get aggressive out out of fear. He was hiding behind chairs in the room and started growling the second he saw the doctor.
I asked her if we could try anything else before having to sedate him. She walked him to the back, gave him love and he did anything she wanted. I appreciated that so much. I've also boarded both of the there when I travel and they love it. They love animals there and it shows in their care. I whole heartedly recommended you allowing them to care for your pets! Just please do yourself a favor and avoid this place!! Since I've moved to this area I've seen and heard nothing but horror stories.
From a person taking in a sick kitten (that was adopted from them) being put down WITHOUT their permission. Dogs or cats being fixed and it being a complete hack job! Those poor babies!! Dogs after surgery having damn fish line to close them up. Beware of the "low cost spay and neuter" just think about how they get everything to be so low cost ... NO pain meds for the animals. Please. Go somewhere else.
Wow! We love it here! We have taken our puppies here since they were 6 weeks old. Even when one of my boys max got sick, they worked with us so well, even called a few days later so see how we was. Being a new dog owner means you will have lots of questions, and there always there to answer them! The doctors are so kind and really care about the animals! Not impressed! Their boarding area is loud and smells awful.
I can understand that to a degree because dogs have accidents, but this wasn't a poop smell. Just smelled really dirty. Guess that explains why they were hesitant to let me take a look at the boarding area. The staff isn't very friendly and acted like I was bothering them. I ended up booking at the Animal Inn next door even though it was a bit more expensive and had an amazing experience! Staff is friendly and Vets actually listen and address your issues.
Very clean facility. I love taking my animals there. They get so much attention from the staff! Dr. Whitley was amazing! We took our Great Dane pup there he was extremely sick with a joint disease, causing a lot of pain. Our pup was there for about a week. He would always call and give my husband and I up dates every morning. Also he would go up there on his days off. He did everything possible to save the pup, unfortunately there was no cure.
I always recommend people to use him though! Very nice staff, very nice building and very helpful people. We had to take our dog there for emergency care a few weeks back and they where so comforting about the whole ordeal. We have to take her every other day and they get us in with in 5 min. Of waiting, if even that long. Best if all, they take walk ins The Veternarians and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
They don't rush through my appointments. They take their time to answer all my questions and addresses all my concerns. I will most definately be returning to this office. Cost is pretty reasonable, like most other Vets around town. I took my cocker spaniel here to get spayed because they did our rescued pitbull from the shelter. The surgery went fine but they notified me after that she was still in heat several months after her cycle was over.
When I told me this I asked why they continued with the surgery because she is at a higher risk of she's in heat. I also asked why they didn't notify me before the surgery began. It seems irresponsible for them to continue surgery to get another dog in and out of their clinic. After a few days I was worried about the healing of her incision and took her back for a check. I was starting to see the inside stitches and there was redness, swelling, and drainage.
I was told they were fine and to return in a few days to have them removed. I asked if there was anything that could be given to help reduce the redness and drainage because the looked infected and with the opening more bacteria could hurt her. I was told everything looked fine and normal. I took her the next day to Eastview on Madison for a second opinion and they were shocked by what her incision looked like! She has been put on antibiotics for 10 days because of the obvious infected that the inexperienced vet techs at St.
B failed to notice! I wish I would have never taken our dog there because they are only interested in getting as many dogs in and out of their facility. They are way more concerned with quantity over quality. Save yourself the time, money, and worry and take your pet somewhere else. Needless to say we will never be back!
