Every adopted animal must be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption or before 6 months of age if a puppy or kitten.
All adopted animals are given a rabies vaccination (if 12 weeks and older), a distemper/parvo vaccination, de-wormer medicine, and are microchipped. Our cats are not tested or vaccinated for feline leukemia. We take in stray dogs and cats from Rusk County and stray dogs from the townships of Ruby and Birch Creek in Chippewa County. Surrendered pets are only taken in when room is available.
Please call ahead if you need to surrender a pet. We do not board animals. County dog licenses and City of Ladysmith cat licenses can be purchased at our shelter.
