From a jungle of rain-washed pines and junipers spearing the hot blueness of the Florida sky, ran a little, tawny-haired boy. His bare toes, extending from his overalled legs, crackled in opposition to the fallen palmettos. He leaped into your air, flinging his arms toward a flock of white doves circling above him.
12 16 Willowdale AvePort Washington, NY 11050 (516) 883-2005 Dr. Farmiloe and all of the girls in the office, are so incredibly friendly and helpful! For one, my dog has many allergies and has a weak immune system. Whenever my dog has had a flare up or has gotten sick, I was able to get an appointment right away. There is never a wait in the office and Dr. Farmiloe is the most thorough vet that we have been to.
I have been to other veterinarians who were not able to pick up on ear mites and two hernias with my dog but Dr. Farmiloe was able to pick this up immediately! Another thing that we love about Dr. Farmiloe is that he is very thorough and explains the ailments and treatments in great detail so that you know what exactly is going on with your dog. We love Dr. Farmiloe and we highly recommend him! We were out of town when our dog became ill.
Our family watching our pet brought our dog here. The vet refused to get in contact with our veterinarian that normally sees our dog to get an accurate medical history and instead kept my wife on the phone for 15 minutes reducing her to tears. They don't seem to be concerned about doing the right thing for animals or their families. Under new Management although Dr Kromfeld's photos are still on the wall.
But somehow his presence is missing. The floors of the examinating rooms are scattered with dog hair. The staff and veterinarians seem indifferent. Not the same practice from years back. I would bring my pet to another fresh new practice. I just had a great experience with Dr. Farmaloe. Called this morning with my dog having an allergic reaction, I am new to the area and my dog is not a regular patient (will be now though!) and they got me in ASAP.
He was so nice and calm, didn't feel like he was pushing procedures and tests on me like I always did in the city. He commented on how nice my dog was, got down on the floor with him. Overall I felt like my pup was not only in capable hands but also ones that really cared. I'd like to thank the entire staff and Dr Ann for taking care of my pet the rabbit, Venus. The hospital cares deeply for every pet that visits the place.
I'd definitely bring more pets here. I know the place is very close to North Shore Animal but it's always good to have a doctor and staff who you can always talk to about your pets and always follow-up after each visit. Dr Ann performed a surgery on Venus and she went through the process well and healed quickly. They called to follow-up the next day. I didn't get this service from The Humane Society of NY.
When one of my rabbits dies, the hospital took care of the arrangement placing my rabbit there for pick-up from pet cemetery. From now on, all of my pets will be brought to this place. I have nothing but positive things to say about the team at Port Washington Animal Hospital! Dozens of my clients at Dan's Dog Walking and Pet Sitting have raved about their experience with them and I am happy to give them a 5 star review! We only started visiting this practice about a year ago, but I wish we'd gone sooner.
The vets and staff are so caring and helpful. When our pet passed away, it was as if their pet passed. When we decide to get another dog, this will be where we go. I brought my two year old pekingese here for a visit with Dr. Farmaloe for a regular check-up and vaccines. Dr. Farmaloe was recommended by another pekingese owner, so we decided to give this place a try. I made the appointment via telephone a few days in advance, and was given the option to fax in my peke's medical records os that her file would be ready and that Dr.
Farmaloe would know what she needs for her appointment. The staff kept their word--everything was ready when we arrived for our appointment. We arrived on time and did not have to wait. That's a huge plus because we used to go to North Shore Animal League's clinic and even with an appointment, we'd have to wait about 20 minutes on average for each visit. Another plus was the vet assistant who was present throughout the entire appointment.
At North Shore Animal League's clinic, it would be just the vet--and I'd have to be the one holding down and comforting my dog when he/she gave shots or did exams. Dr. Farmaloe was very thorough in his examination and we did not feel rushed. He seems to be very knowledgeable and patient. He even trimmed my peke's nails at the end of the appointment! Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of service, promptness, and the cleanliness of this facility and its employees.
Though the vets at North Shore Animal League's clinic were also very knowledgeable and personable, I prefer this facility for it's timely and non-rushed appointments. One negative is that the prices of Port Washington Animal Hospital are higher than the prices of the North Shore Animal League clinic, but I do understand that you get what you pay for. Our visit came out to $230.00 for the exam ($64), heartworm test ($44), fecal test ($44), and routine shots (Bortadella and DHPP for $77).
My peke and I had a pleasant experience and will be coming back for future medical visits. Great staff and Dr michael ezell.... Caring , professional -give you every option available for your pets care. Highly recommend. Convenient hours too. Thoughtful and excellent diagnosis and care. Dr. Farmaloe did an excellent and successful job to remove our lab's very large and growing tumor. Extremely caring and a good and anxiety free experience.
Dr. Farmiloe has been caring for my chinchilla, Lucky, for 10+ years now. He's great when it comes to simple checkups and has prescribed the proper medication that always took care of Lucky's issues. However, when my chinchilla had a more complex tooth problem that he couldn't cure, Dr. Farmiloe did the right thing and referred us to an exotic animal veterinarian. He truly cares about the animal, not the bottom line, which is exactly what any pet owner wants in a veterinarian.
Terrible vets. One vet was unable to even take a blood sample from my dog, he tried over and over. Nobody has ever had this problem before. It was horrible and he was incompetent - trying to take a blood sample from her neck instead of her paw. The other vet gave me the wrong prescription for antibiotics for a staph skin infection. The facility is very old and decrepit and does not seem all that clean
