Even though he's an older dog, he has lots of energy. We think the perfect family finally walked into his life! Hunter was very afraid of everything in the kennel. When people would walk by his cage, he was usually too scared to move.
His eyes were so wide and fearful that you almost felt bad to look at him for too long. Our staff has been working with and socializing him at our front desk and it paid off. He was adopted yesterday, too! Thank you to these families who opened their homes to two of our most needy shelter dogs. Pets and farm animals need additional care. In yesterday's post, we asked people what they have done and for their helpful tips worth sharing. Here's what they had to say. Please add yours in the comments! Monika’s suggestion- Straw is very inexpensive and a lifesaver! We fill several large boxes with a small hole cut into them, with straw, and l...eave them all over the property for stray cats and any other critters that feel the need to stay warm.
Straw is an insulator and is a nice warm spot for outdoor animals. It is also what our mare (with her blanket on) sleeps on. OBS Feed, Seminole, and several other feed stores carry straw. You can even offer it to your neighbor that may not know what to do. Of course, all pets should be brought inside, but I would rather offer some comfort to a dog left outside because they do not have a say in coming inside or not.
Terry’s suggestion- This is a good time to use pallets. Stuff them with hay, cardboard or straw and make a wind break. Wal-Mart and the dollar stores will let you have all the cardboard you want. Use it for cold floors and the ground. Don't forget- NO TETHERING/NO TRAPPING. Humane treatment is the law. Call Animal Control to report violations. 671-8727. Please share! For making you achievements in getting the images of animals that you want, you can stick to the following suggestions.
Away from a jungle of rain-washed pines and junipers spearing the recent blueness on the Florida sky, ran a little, tawny-haired boy. His bare ft, extending from his overalled legs, crackled from the fallen palmettos. He leaped into the air, flinging his arms toward a flock of white doves circling previously mentioned him.
