No need to be a volunteer – everyone is welcome at this amazing family event. Bring the kids and spend the afternoon in kitty bliss! Our Heartfelt Thanks All of our volunteers were thrilled to learn that STAF was recently awarded a grant to support our Medical Fund. A heartfelt thank you to the John Hauck Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, John W. Hauck and Narley L. Haley and Co-Trustees. This Medical Fund grant will make a huge difference in the lives of so many cats and dogs.
Our medical expenses are almost one-half of our shelter’s overall budget and these grants will help us give emergency medical care, save lives, and ensure many unwanted animals have the chance for a home, love, and lifelong care. Working together we can make a difference for the animals in our community. Make your New Years resolution now! Give back in 2018 by becoming a volunteer at Save the Animals Foundation.
Volunteer activities include daily care of the animals (i.e., feeding, cleaning, playing, grooming), fund raising, serving on the board of directors, obedience training for dogs, socialization of the cats, upkeep of the building and grounds, adoption activities, and working with community groups and schools in promoting humane education. Volunteers also perform all administrative tasks involved in running a financially sound and secure non-profit.
If you would like to learn more about volunteering at STAF, please plan to attend one of the cat or dog volunteering orientations. Please see our event calendar for orientation dates and times. Away from a jungle of rain-washed pines and junipers spearing the recent blueness in the Florida sky, ran a little, tawny-haired boy. Save Animals Facing Extinction seeks to drive change at all levels of government that will protect Earth’s most precious wildlife. Originally established in April 2015 and supported by philanthropist Paul G. Allen, Save Animals Facing Extinction was created to support Initiative 1401, a first-of-its-kind ballot measure in Washington State which prohibited the purchase, sale, and distribution of products made from a list of 10 endangered animals.
Working closely with partners from the nation’s leading conservation, education, and zoological organizations, as well as grassroots donors from across the United States, I-1401 passed with over 70 percent support in November 2015. Now, Save Animals Facing Extinction has relaunched as a national organization. We are expanding our focus to ensure that laws across the United States are just as strong, or stronger, to defeat poachers and wildlife traffickers.
Your support is critical to our success. Funds raised will be used to support ballot measures, lobbying efforts, and other advocacy activities to demand stronger laws protecting endangered species. Learn More About Our Efforts
