Away from a jungle of rain-washed pines and junipers spearing the recent blueness on the Florida sky, ran a little, tawny-haired boy. His bare feet, extending from his overalled legs, crackled towards the fallen palmettos. He leaped to the air, flinging his arms toward a flock of white doves circling higher than him.

(est) - Milo ID: 24499 Meet Chiloe! A recent evacuee from our Milo Sanctuary due to the Mendocino county fires, Chiloe has blossomed at our Point Richmond location! A Wisdom Panel DNA test ordered by his previous owners showed Chiloe to be a mix of the following breeds: American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Border Collie, German Shepherd, and Siberian Husky. Chiloe is an active boy who loves going on walks, runs, or playing fetch at the beach as he loves the water.
Once he gets his wiggles out, he’s a snuggly baby boy who just wants to be close to his person and shower them with love. He’s been great with the dogs we have introduced him to and very excited and eager to play- great with other active dogs, although he seems to prefer females (many dogs often prefer playmates of the opposite gender). After Chiloe realizes you’re not just another fleeting face, he bonds very closely! His only wish is to be with his people, showing you love and attentively looking back at you often to see how you’re doing and how he can please you.
Chiloe walks great on leash and is very responsive to commands from his people. We think Chiloe could be a dog that could hike with you off-leash in the appropriate settings as he has no desire to deviate far from his person and responds attentively to his name and commands. He’s very intelligent in addition to being attentive, so very trainable. He is potty/crate trained and knows sit, down, and to come when you call him.
Chiloe was surrendered by a family with no small children, so we’re uncertain of how he would interact with them. Given his energy level and young age, we think he may be better suited to a family with older (age 5+) or no children in the home. Chiloe is a truly special boy and we couldn't be happier he’s with us in PR as he so deserves to find his loving, forever home. He will bring so much joy into your life! Please stop by Milo Point Richmond and meet this beautiful, loving boy! Request Holly to assist you for additional, personalized staff insight with Chiloe! E-mail us at info@milofoundation.

A staff favorite, this sweet senior girl has spent the last 8 years of her life at our Milo sanctuary! Once a fairly energetic girl hesitant towards other dogs, this queen has aged like fine wine! She now enjoys socializing with other dogs both large and small, and is one of our most calm and gentle dogs.
Although perfectly content snuggled up on her bed, Roxy also enjoys hiking in the hills or at the beach with her dog and people friends. Don’t let her age fool you, this healthy, resilient girl still has many years of life and love left ahead of her! She’s a snuggle bug who you’ll find curled up quietly on her bed inside her kennel, looking out at you with her big, soulful eyes in hopes that you’ll finally be the one to end her almost decade-long search for a family to call her own.
Roxy is potty/crate trained, walks very well on leash, and rides great in cars. After many years at our rural sanctuary, she’s readjusting to the sights and sounds of the city life and is currently most comfortable at the dog park or out on a hike where she feels more relaxed without the bustle of cars, buses, etc. We think an ideal home for Roxy would be in a home with a nice yard or in a rural setting, with a family, couple, individual, or senior(s) who are willing to finally give her the life and love that she and every dog deserves to know.
The older the vine, the sweeter the juice, and Roxy is pure sweetness! Please consider adopting this mellow, affectionate, oh-so-lovable girl today at Milo Point Richmond! E-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org See More Photos of ROXY
