Hi, my name is Knox! I am a 5-year-old, 18-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix. I am very smart and I love going for walks and sniffing everything. I have some bad memories of being put in a crate and being restrained, so I would do best in a home where I wouldn't have to be confined. I'm not too fond of the shelter life -- I would much prefer to be in a comfy bed surrounded by treats, toys, and the comforts of home.
Come meet me at the APL! Hi, my name is Alice! I am a calm 3-year-old cat with a beautiful long hair coat. I prefer a quiet lifestyle of lounging and getting lots of pets and scratches. I have a very sweet meow to let you know if I need attention. I will make a great companion for someone looking for a loyal buddy. Come meet me at the APL! Away from a jungle of rain-washed pines and junipers spearing the new blueness of the Florida sky, ran a little, tawny-haired boy. Our Mission Check out our website at apl-shelter.org for all of our upcoming events and current information. The Animal Protective League is a 501(c) organization and operates both an animal shelter with adoption center and a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic. We are the regional leaders in ending the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets! Our limited admission shelter is unique in that we prioritize sick, injured, and abandoned animals.
We also take in animals that are slated for euthanasia from local area animal control agencies and give them a second chance at life. Our spay/neuter clinic offers affordable spay/neuter services for members of the public, as well as other humane groups within a 90 mile radius. Costs for surgery are $65 for a dog spay/neuter; $45 for a male Adoption Policy We have plenty of dogs and cats just waiting to meet you! Our adoption center is open from Noon to 5pm every day.
If you see an animal on Petfinder please feel free to call our shelter at 217-544-PETS (7387) to inquire if the animal is at the shelter or in one of our foster homes. There is a simple application process that you will need to complete prior to approval for adoption.
